I finally figured out how to stop smoking. But first, let me explain that I’ve gone 21 years without a cigarette. Following a doctor’s dire warning that I was showing some lung damage, I put out my last fag back in 1987. Thanks to the wonders of Nicarette gum, I managed to stop smoking.
Twenty-one years or so later, I still experienced the occasional craving to smoke. It didn’t happen often and it wasn’t a serious temptation, but still, there it was. I have been told that nicotine creates a “learning” at the cellular level, and that our cells never really “forget” the nicotine.
So this brings us to yesterday. As I’ve posted a few times already, I’m enthusiastic about EFT tapping for so many reasons. I’ve been using EFT for various issues, and an unexplained, but very welcome side effect is that it has been releasing energy trapped in the damaged lungs. I take this to mean that some healing is happening in this area, even though the damage was diagnosed as permanent.
So, I was doing some EFT tapping around some other issue when I suddenly began craving a cigarette strongly. I could taste and smell tobacco. My jaw clenched into the position its in when you drag on a cigarette.
This surprised me quite a bit — its 21 years, after all. I stopped tapping on whatever I was tapping about and switched over to tapping about the craving directly. Suddenly. I erupted in a burst of strong anger and started yelling over and over, “Don’t take my cigarette away from me.”
This angry outburst continued for awhile. When it wore out, I tried some more tapping around smoking cessation, and released energies related to fear and agitation. I presume these energies and emotions were related to the nicotine withdrawal I experienced at the time. After that, more anger came out, directed at people who had criticized me for smoking before I finally quit.
Finally, this trapped energy worked its way out of me. When it did, the craving for nicotine was gone. My chest felt better than it had before, better than it has felt in a good many years, in fact. Once again, I am in awe of the power of EFT and its ability to remove trapped energies that have been detrimental to our health and well being.
Although I didn’t use EFT to quit smoking, given that it wasn’t around at the time, I’m darned sure it would be a great help to anyone battling the addiction. And for those of you who have stopped smoking, I suggest giving EFT a try and see what trapped energies you may still have around the drug, no matter how long its been since you quit.
There’s a lot of research now showing that reformed smokers are at considerably higher risk of lung cancer than those who have never smoked. I would not be at all surprised if they someday find that EFT tapping can remove that heightened risk and get our chances down to the same statistical chances of the never-smoked people.
It’s sure worth giving it a try. If you want to learn how to stop smoking with EFT, or to learn EFT for any reason, check out The Art and Science of EFT

How to Lose Weight Quickly is my new web site. I make the point that for the seriously obese, weight management goes beyond the usual eat this and get lots of exercise approach. Weight management involves a monumental shift in the unconsciousness, for such a person. Hypnosis and NLP might contribute to this shift, and I’m sure various other methods can — but I’m advocating The Silva Method, a truly wonderful program that teaches a type of meditation that literally changes our unconscious and lets us create the results we want, and EFT tapping, a component of the Energy Psychology. EFT tapping involves tapping on some of the body’s energy points while focusing on the situation we want to create or eliminate.
I discussed in an earlier post how I helped my friend get rid of her fear or flying by using EFT. You can also use EFT to get rid of food cravings and obsessions, and to address uncomfortable emotions that often lead to overeating.
Used together the Silva Method and EFT tapping are a powerful combination. They produce the motivation to lose weight quickly, easily and safely, and the ability to maintain the weight loss.
I truly urge anyone with a food addiction, or anyone who has been on the yo-yo diet treadmill, or anyone who considers themselves morbidly obese to check out these methods. Don’t give up because you’ve failed before. These tools make a difference.
Check out the site. In time, I intend to add videos and a private membership area. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

If you are in business selling something, whether its a product or a service, you have a social responsibility to tell people about your service.
That’s one of the messages that impressed me in Week One of the Desire to Grow 12 week business program. Forum Owner Wendy Wallace interviewed Robert Morgen, author of the book, The Spiritually Aware Entrepreneur.
Moran made the point that if you passionately believe your product or service is valuable and serves a genuine purpose, then its your social obligation to let people know about it. For some of us, marketing modesty stands in the way of promoting what we have to offer. Morgan sure shoots holes in that excuse, doesn’t me?
Of course, the key point here is that you must first passionately believe your product or service is of great benefit. Otherwise, if you’re among the Internet marketers who promote everything that looks like it might possibly bring in a dollar or two, then please do us all a favor and stop promoting until you find something truly valuable.
That last paragraph is my own take on it, not Morgan’s.
The Desire to Grow forum is a newly launched membership site for women entrepreneurs who have spiritual beliefs. Wendy is offering a 12 week training program. If its all as good as Week One, then its money well spent. The video of Mortan’s interview is archieved in the site and available for download.

I discovered Google Alerts awhile back. I don’t know how I managed to live without it.
In case you don’t know, Google Alerts is a free service offered by, well, Google. You sign for email notification when Google encounters new content using your keyword phrase.
So what does that mean to you?
1. Enter your business name, your products or your own name. Keep track of what people are saying about you or your business.
2. Enter your competition’s name and product. Find out what people are saying about them.
3. Researching a particular niche? Create a Google Alert for the keywords. You’ll get regular links to blogs and web sites discussing your topic. Use this to keep up with what’s happening in the niche, or use it for researching content for your blog posts or autoresponder messages.
4. If you write articles and make them available to other publishers, find out who is using your articles and whether they are abiding by your publishing requirements. For example, I have many articles published by Ezine Articles. Regularly, I receive Google Alerts showing blogs that are using my articles without making the link live in the resource box. Sometimes this is an honest mistake and the blogger will correct the error when you point it out. Other times, it appears to be an automated posting that I believe must be collected and posted by an automated technology – placed in the hands of an ethically challenged individual. In this case, it is unlikely that thsaid scumbag will respond to your messages. Your next step, in that case, is to complain to the web host or pursue legal means.
5. Use Google Alerts to find noteworthy links that you might post in forums or to email lists. By adding good links and content, you enhance your reputation among members and may drive traffic to your web site through your forum or email signature.
Google Alerts save the day for many Internet marketers.

If you’re among the growing number of people who gag at the sales letters turned out by today’s Internet marketers, then you have to check out this web page. It’s truly the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages. This guy or gal, I don’t know who it is… has this wonderful spoof of a sales letter. He literally breaks down every component, right from the phony testimonials, the fake “proof of results”, the worthless guarantee, the unbelievablly valued “bonuses”…. and does it with so much humor. He ends by asking for $5 (live link to Paypal) to NOT send you a free ebook
Visit it here:Click Here You Idiot.com
Now this guy/gal has probably got a valuable commodity with this site. I doubt if he/she will et many five dollar donations, but the site is monitized with Google Adsense. Those particular ads, which are in the “make money” theme, probably pay well. And — the humor makes it an ideal subject for viral traffic via social marketing. Smart idea. We need more of that sort of thing.
I’m more and more starting to believe that Internet Marketers who folllow the beaten path will lose out to those who offer creativity and originality.

Unless you’ve been in a coma, you know about yesterday’s stock market crash, caused by a massive drop in the US housing market. It looks like its a global event. The front page of today’s Vancouver Sun reads, “B.C. Companies Lose Billions in Crash.” The Toronto Stock Exchange reports that yesterday was its worst day since the dotcoms crashed in 2001. Stock prices plummeted in Australian, European and Asian markets as well.
Economists predict that if George Bush’s plan to halt the drop isn’t effective, then we could be looking at a long term recession.
God knows that’s nothing to look forward to. The crash can have long standing and devastating effects on a good many people. When companies fail or verge on failing, we all suffer. Suppliers don’t get paid for orders. Investors see their portfolios go downward. Employees get laid off, and finding a new job may not be that easy during tight economic times. People have less disposable income, and cut back on luxuries first and necessities second. Nobody wants to see that happen, certainly not me.
However, these conditions do present opportunities for those who look for the silver lining. People have need of affordable products to help them through the crisis. I’m thinking in terms of budget priced products that help polish up the old resume and provide insights for new job search, products and service that promote self health-care (and prevention) at a time when medical insurance and medical services may be unaffordable for many, affordable financial services, information on setting up a home business and probably a lot more.
These are the kinds of things needed — and anyone providing an ethical, genuinely useful product or service that benefits people will do well, provided the goods and services are affordable.
The stock market crash may also mean its a good time to invest in some of the big companies. As they say, buy low and sell high. This is the low. The high will eventually come again if you’re able to wait a few years. However, don’t take this as stock market advice. I’m a neophyte in that area.

I just learned about an interesting meditation that helps us become more positive and confident in our thoughts and actions. Essentially, you identify the Members of the Board that exist inside your head, offering negative thoughts and reactions whenever you want to move ahead.
You close your eyes, relax, and picture in your mind a board room. Set out coffee and cookies, and welcome your Board Members. Face the first chair and allow the Board member to appear. Ask that person what role they play in the way you think to yourself. The people who appear in the Boardroom will be people from your past or present life whose voices run through your mind when you want to do something.
My Board Members (with names changed to protect the guilty) were:
1. Fred. His role was to make suggestive remarks and tell me I’m a failure because I don’t make as much money as he does.
2. Edna. Her role is is tell me that other people might be able to make this particular project work, but I won’t be able to.
3. Joan. She points out obvious problems with great glee but offers no solutions.
4. John. Seldom attends meetings. Doesn’t contribute much, but shows up now and again to feign an interest. His role is to keep me unsettled and not knowing where I stand.
Ron. Tell me I’m out of my league and can’t do the job.
Nate. Offers relentless criticism which he presents as “helpful feedback”.
Once the Board Members have introduced themselves and stated their role, fire them!
Do it just like The Donald. Go around the room, point your finger in their face and say with as much emphasis as you care to make, YOU’RE FIRED!
Now populate the Board with people who contribute positive energies.
When the old Board Members show up trying to get back in the room, remind them they’re fired and send them packing.
I like meditations like this one. If we’re honest about it, we all have a few Board Members like the ones I identified. The sooner you fire them, the better you’ll be.

I’m happy to say I’m a lifetime member of Wendy Wallace’s amazing Desire to Grow forum. This forum is newly launched, and its for women in business who also believe in the Law of Attraction. Before you roll your eyes and make disparaging remarks, let me assure you that this forum is much, much more than a group of flaky women hanging around navel gazing. Okay, perhaps there is a LITTLE navel gazing going on, but the businesswomen in this forum are supportive, smart and truly dedicated to growing their businesses.
Starting this week, Wendy is offering a 12 week course as part of the deal. It’s a business course, starting out with developing a business plan and going through every aspect of operating an online business.
Wendy started the ball rolling with a conference call so we could introduce ourselves and get to know one another. I wasn’t able to attend the call, so this gal kindly offered to schedule a second call for those who couldn’t make the first one. As it turned out, she and I were the only participants, and I was so fortunate to have Wendy all to myself for an entire hour. She gave me so much good advice about my business issues, I can scarecely believe my luck.
I’ve had highly paid coaches who didn’t have near as much on the ball as Wendy did …
The forum is still open to new members. I’m recommending it. If you are a woman, and you’re in business, and may or may not believe in the law of attraction, do yourself a favor and come on board. Click this link:
